Brewtown Newtown is the kind of place that understands our desperate need for a baked goods fix on a Sunday morning and this month they have upped their game even further, partnering with Smoking Gun Bagels for one weekend only. Yep, on the 13th and 14th August Smoking Gun Bagels will be moving into the Newtown attic space at O’Connell Street Merchants and they’re bringing their famous Montreal-style wood-fired bagels with them.
The party doesn’t stop at gluten though. No sir-ee! They will also be celebrating the return of the Sydney Romantics pop-up, where sustainable and ethically produced ready-to-wear wardrobe staples will be in high supply. Expect their current collections, featuring limited release prints and designs, but be pleasantly surprised by their exclusive “Newtown” tee shirt, which we can only imagine to be a strong statement piece.
Throughout the weekend there’ll be free coffee cupping workshops held by Brewtown Newtown’s Master Roaster, Chris Bonney. So this is your opportunity to learn all of the insider tricks for achieving that perfect pour, every single time. DJ Josh Leenaars will be on the decks, as well as guest DJs from Sydney Romantics. Because what’s an attic party without beats?
Start with brunch downstairs at Brewtown Newtown, before ascending the stairs into carby, fashion heaven. Go on, you know you want to.
