ANZAC Day is a day for honouring the contributions that our soldiers have made to our country. But as the dawn services wrap up around Sydney we won’t blame you for turning your efforts towards your stomach.

Let’s be honest—we all go searching for our first caffeine hit of the day post dawn service and just so you don’t have to turn into a caffeine starved maniac, we have put together a list of the cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs that will be open in Sydney this ANZAC Day. We’re good like that.

Dachshund Coffee

Hunters Hill
The Hounds of Hunters Hill will be serving up smiles and soy lattes from 8am-2pm on Monday. Hot tip: order the fruit toast. I repeat, order the fruit toast.

Barista & Cook

One of the new kids on Sydney’s block, Barista & Cook want to start your relationship right and take care of you this ANZAC Day. They’ll be open 8am-3pm.

Devon Café

Surry Hills
The guys behind Devon Cafe know what you want this ANZAC Day and will be open from 8am until 3:30pm.

Annnnd it’s a similar story over at their little brother, also open from 8am-3.30am.

Cookies and caffeine from 8am - 4pm. ‘Nuff said.

Bread and Circus Wholefoods Canteen

Youeni Foodstore

Castle Hill
Because they make their own bread, chocolate (seriously), coconut yoghurt and vegan cheesecakes. Plenty of reasons to visit Youeni between 7.30am and 3.30pm.

For a sneaky morning caffeine fix on the way home from your local dawn service, Pilgrims will be open for takeaway coffees only.

Surry Hills
Ricotta hotcakes all damn day – Bills will be open from 7.30am until late.

Huddle around a communal table with the family and a feast of rotisserie meats a la Sunday roast. The Paddington will be open from midday until midnight.

Ms G’s

Potts Point
The bar will be open between 5pm and 11pm. So don’t head down anticipating a cheeseburger spring roll. Do go down for a ‘Hongo Bongo’ cocktail instead.
