In the words of the honourable Ron Swanson: why would anyone eat anything but breakfast food? And after you see Surfers Paradise in the AM, why would you eat arguably the best meal of the day anywhere else?

Here at The Urban List, when it comes to breakfast we have faith in our beloved Surfers. So check out our pick of the best breakfasts in Surfers Paradise and see what you’ve been missing out on!

Elston

There’s a good chance you’ve spent a night at Elston which wound up with a hangover so vicious, breakfast was a laughable matter. But we have to say, if you drag yourself out of bed, Elston also has the cure. With a fashionable, rustic interior facing direct beachfront you can enjoy traditional bacon and eggs executed to perfection, along with an assortment of new-world Gold Coast menu items containing words such as ‘smashed avo’, ‘bircher museli’ and ‘nutella pancakes’. And we know if we didn’t have you at bacon we had you at bircher!

Paradox Coffee Roasters

What we do know is Paradox serves up some of the freshest, richest coffee in Surfers (they roast their own on site), sourced ethically and from some of the most exotic locations in the world, in addition to serving up hearty, seasonal brekkies made with locally sourced ingredients. A recent addition to the best breakfasts in Surfers Paradise and located inside the unique The 4217 building, you will feel calm, peaceful and cultured inside Paradox. Have a coffee and a bagel and see if you can help us figure out the Paradox.

Best Breakfasts Surfers Paradise

Bazaar QT

Tackling the buffet breakfast with a sophisticated and unique twist, spectacular is the only word that does Bazaar’s buffet any justice. Without question one of the best breakfasts in Surfers Paradise, dig into a mind-boggling choices such as delicate parfaits to fresh tomato juice, a vast antipasto selection, and your favourite eggs cooked to order—all spectacularly presented and laid out with homely yet refined design touches. Despite the huge range, flavour and quality is definitely not sacrificed. Be warned though, a Bazaar buffet (ahem 'interactive kitchen') will ruin every other buffet for you in life.

Sandbar

This cafe slash restaurant slash bar hybrid is the rebirth of one of Surfers Paradise’s longest established beachfront watering holes. They’ve done away with the breakfast buffet and replaced with a stellar breakfast selection of Insta-worthy smoothie and poke bowls and twists on the traditional morning favourites. Injecting some much needed cool back into Surfers Paradise, we love Sandbar’s breezy new fit-out, always-holiday vibes, creative menus to accompany those salty sea vistas.

Bumbles Cafe

You know from the name this place is going to be straight-up adorable, and it totally is. The charming house-turned-café is honestly so gorgeous you will audibly gasp when you first walk in, the same way you would if you saw Beyonce in real life. You will see this place and get upset because a refurbished house is prettier than you— no exaggerations. But despite its obvious beauty, Bumbles is homely and warm, serving up a menu that makes the simplest thing unbelievably tasty. Or, if you’re feeling daring, you can have what we at Metropolist call a backwards day, where you eat dessert for breakfast and work your way back until you’re having breakfast for dessert. In this case, chocolate cheesecake for brekkie is a safe bet. One of the best breakfasts in Surfers Paradise? You bet!
