Summer is calling and now’s the time to get your butt into gear to detox before you retox over Christmas. Perth, being the fitness loving city she is, has got loads of fun fitness activities to get on board with this October, including acrobatics, Jungle Body fun and marathons.

Here are 5 of Perth’s best fitness events in October.

True Grit

If 12 kilometres of mud, sweat and tears is up your alley then you’ll want to secure your place at True Grit this October. The military-style course features over 30 obstacles (yes, there’ll be some barbed wire and you will get dirty) and is not for the faint hearted, but that’ll make the free beer once you finish the course taste even better.

The Jungle Body Convention

Get that booty grooving at The Jungle Body Convention this month. There’ll be loads of sweat inducing masterclasses on offer (yes, that includes Konga, Tyga, Vypa and Jagua), DJs providing the beats, cocktail party fun times and inspirational speakers. Pick and choose between the events that suit you or opt for the three-day pass.

Where: Novotel Langley, 221 Adelaide Terrace, Perth
When: 14—16 October

Rottnest Marathon & Fun Run

If you’re looking for your next fun run, look no further, the Rottnest Marathon & Fun Run is here! Choose between the five-kilometre, 10-kilometre, half marathon or full marathon course, hop on the ferry and be ready to run around the salt lakes of Rotto and past Little Armstrong Bay, Geordie Bay and Longreach Bay before returning to the start/finish line at Heritage Common.

When: Sunday 23 October

Inversions And Hand Balancing Yoga

Take your asana up a level and try your hand at Yoga Grooves five-week Inversions and hand balancing course. You’ll learn all about the foundations for getting into the right posture, work on your core and gain a whole lot of strength in the process. Suitable for beginners through to advanced yogis.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane… nope it’s someone doing AcroPilates, and that someone could be you this October. Join The Perth Pilates Studio for an afternoon of acrobatics fun. Working in groups of three you’ll learn the basics of spotting, flying and basing. No prior experience required!
