If you, like us, love nothing more than downing a cold one, then gee whiz do we have some good news for you. For the first time ever, the Perth Royal Beer Awards are going to be open to the public, so you can expect one big beer extravaganza this weekend.
Held at the Claremont Showgrounds over three sessions this Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 July, more than 35 breweries from all over Australia are competing—including WA faves Black Brewing Co, Gage Roads, Little Creatures and Cheeky Monkey to name a few—and you'll be beery pleased to hear that the winners will be announced before the carnival kicks off, meaning you can go straight for the best of the bunch and see if you agree with the experts.
For those of you not into beer (what are you doing here?), you'll want to find yourself a spot near the Royal Cocktail Bar where you can get your hands on cocktails (duh), wines and spirits.
We're guessing you'll want to line your stomach before knocking back too many brews, so head over to the Harvey Beef Grill by Food Grafitti, Locale Kitchen, Miss Chow's or the Smokin BBQ Bus for some seriously scrumptious dude food.
To keep the good vibes going there will be live music cranking all day long, roving performers and sideshow alley arcade games to keep you entertained all weekend long.
Looking for somewhere to wet your whistle until then? Check out the best breweries in WA.
