Most things in life are uncertain, but if there’s one thing we can all count on—it’s tacos. And this March, Sydney will be the lucky host of a taco degustation that is just so genius, we only wish we thought of it first. It’s all happening thanks to Toby Wilson (of Ghostboy Cantina and Bad Hombres) who recently returned from Mexico and thought, ‘you know what, why don’t I take over Mecca to host a bunch of taco degustation dinners?’.
This legendary feast will involve eight courses of taco goodness, inspired by his recent jaunt to the motherland. Think Oaxaca cheese quesadillas, ceviche tostadas, and lamb barbacoa tacos. It’ll all be paired with tequila and Mezcal (flown in especially for the dinners), plus Mexican beer, cocktails and natural wines. Basically, they’ve just got everyone’s backs with this one.
There’ll be two sittings per night and the venue is pretty small, so this is your official warning to book tickets as soon as the second round becomes available. You can do that right here.
What: Las Taquerias de Mexico by Toby Wilson
When: Friday 16 – Saturday 24 March
Where: Mecca, Alexandria
Cost: $60 pp (+ bf)
While we've got you here, another round of boozy Harry Potter brunches has just been announced.
