An Adults-Only Party Is Happening At The Museum

By Mathew Trenear
8th May 2018

This after-hours dance party is basically our childhood dreams come true, plus some of our current dreams now that we think about it. Bringing together sci-fi, DJs, silent discos and (obvs) dinosaurs, Jurassic Lounge is an ode to Age of Reptiles and it’s coming for one night only this June.

Australian Museum is teaming up with the crew from Supanova and Vivid Sydney for this one so you already know this party is going to be off the charts. You can expect an insane virtual reality experience that’ll get you up close and personal with a few prehistoric creatures, there’ll be a massive dance lesson for all those not up to date with their Jurassic moves, and you can even get painted by UV artists so your radioactive dance moves are right on theme.

After you have danced your life away, take a seat and watch some real life renditions of Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi novels. Fuel your evening with the two eateries and, wait for it... FIVE pop-up bars that are guaranteed to be dishing up some delish food, and of course #dranks. BTW it’s a dress up situation, so don’t forget your futuristic, metallic get-up (hoverboard included.)
