Before you tell me you’re not a fan of the vegetable-and-alcohol medley, you can’t pretend you’re not interested in a cocktail adorned with a prawn, a buffalo wing, and a slider. That’s right, now I’ve got your attention.
New Sydney bar, Bloody Mary’s, has set up shop on Victoria Street in Darlinghurst, and it’s already shaping up to have quite the cult following.
If you’re there for the cocktails (and you should be) you should know there are nine different variations of a Bloody Mary on the menu, all with owner Cinta Rockey’s homemade tomato juice. We recommend you bring an open mind and an empty stomach, because these concoctions are stacked with garnishes and are downright delicious. The bloody Caesar comes with a side of bacon, cos lettuce, and prawn, while the Cancun comes with a full Corona, because it can.
Hungry? For breakfast, there’s truffled scrambled eggs on sourdough, chicken finger sandwiches, and, of course, that SPAM burger. That’s right, this is pretty much the only place to be in Sydney if you’re feeling a little worse for wear.
As for the SPAM burger, don’t knock it ‘till you try it, Cinta and the guys wouldn’t proudly serve it up if they didn’t think you’d be pleasantly surprised. It comes with lettuce, tomato, pineapple, mayo and mustard, and we wholeheartedly encourage you to give it a go. Other honourable mentions include the spicy buffalo wings, Boston chowder, and the selection of desserts; chocolate and pecan pie.
