Where To Find Sydney’s Upcoming Laneway Hotel And Its Underground Pool

Our beloved Surry Hills is fast becoming known for more than just its solid coffee joints and hip bars. A heap of darn fine boutique hotels have been popping up in the inner-city suburb of late, and we’ve caught wind there could be another laneway beauty joining the hotel clan.

This bad boy is set to bear 122 rooms in a 12-storey façade, propped on a corner right behind the existing Cambridge Hotel on Riley Street. This basically means it'll be just a stone’s throw away from a bunch of Surry staples (hello to a nightcap at The Winery) and there are plans (all thanks to Aussie architect firm Tzannes) for a stunning rooftop with no shortage of greenery, a basement wellness centre and a kicker of an in-house restaurant. This one is the third feather in the cap for Singaporean-owned Cienna Group who also pulled up the Cambridge Hotel and Adge Hotel around the Surry parts. For their latest plan,

It’s still deep in the works (and yet-to-be-named) but look, given the success of a bunch of other boutique hotel pops in the area, there’s no doubt this newbie won’t be a hit once complete.

Still keen for a stay-cay? Check out this convent turned design hotel in Sydney.
