We’re in a new age of private dining experiences and frankly, we’re all here for it. Especially when the private dining means booking out an entire zoo.
Here’s the deal, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo in Darling Harbour is opening its doors after hours with a one-of-a-kind, private tour of all the animals and dinner with koalas.
You’ll get to kick off your night with nine of your best mates and tour around the entire zoo, including a torchlight tour with one of the onsite keepers for 45 minutes. After you get to run around completely manic at Kangaroo Walkabout and Kakadu Gorge (filled with crocs, obviously), you’ll make your way up to the koala rooftop to get up close and personal with the resident reptiles and fluffy tree bears, which includes some koala-ty time (had to) with the zoo’s fresh new cubs Ilani and Jasper.
Post koala cuddles, it’s all about the big banquet feasting which is made up of three courses and a cruisy two-hour drinks package. You’ll get to lap up some serious feeds in a lush rainforest setting and on the menu is a mega antipasto platter filled with Italian meats, marinated olives and a selection of dips with Turkish bread. After this, you’ll be treated to roast chicken with corn, leek and pea risotto; baked lamb rump with roast beetroot and smoked garlic potatoes; or wild mushroom risotto with leek, corn, pea and aged parmesan cheese. As for dessert—she’s a new surprise every time.
To wash your feasting times down, there’s a solid list of staples you can knock back for two whole hours including sparkling, Prosecco, white, red and rosé, and a selection of beers and a bunch of booze-free drinks too.
