A romantic trip to Paris might be off the cards for the foreseeable future, but that doesn’t mean you can’t channel a little Parisian romance into your 2020 life.
Here to save the day is Olala, a brand new French meal delivery service with a plan to transport French delicacies from incredible French restaurants and bakeries to your door.
Dreamt up by French foodie Megane Bories, Olala is all about shipping authentic French vibes—like crunching into flaky pain au chocolat or dipping warm baguettes into pools of cheese—direct to you so you can beat the travel blues and savour a bit of la belle France in your own kitchen.
Partnering with several Sydney cafes and restaurants, each Olala box contains a step by step recipe, fresh produce and a French playlist to set the mood (necessary). For now, there are three boxes to choose from. There’s a breakfast box created with Marrickville bakery Tonton Bread and filled with an assortment of croissants, pain au chocolat, baguette and Bon Maman jams.
Then, Loluk Bistro can take care of date night with a standard charcuterie-style raclette box, or a vegetarian raclette box. Loluk is the home of raclette (see here), and this authentic, delicious box contains raclette cheese, French charcuterie, pickles, potatoes and a classic French baguette to share.
“In collaboration with local businesses, I want to bring a spark to people’s everyday life by giving them a great excuse to gather with their loved ones and enjoy a precious moment of French happiness,” Bories says about her decision to start Olala, adding that more restaurant collabs and more boxes are on the way.
Olala boxes are available for delivery in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Starting at $29 (we recommend adding a bottle of wine to your order) for two people, Olala will help you embrace your French side. C’est si bon!
