Lola Coffee, in Woolloongabba, knows how to do a good first impression.  Adorable name? Check. Gorgeous fit out? Check. Friendly, attentive staff? Check. From the get-go I fell in love with Lola.

The set-up is seriously stunning. It screams ‘industrial cool’ with polished, marbled concrete floors, high ceilings, a cute honeycomb book case and a giant portrait adorning the wall. The seating is designed for coffee appreciation; bench style seating with tiny tables that jut out and fit just your coffee and a laptop, and a large central table that would be suited to lengthy, scandalous conversations. Lola Coffee is the perfect place for a conversation, too. Be it a meeting, bestie debriefs or just a good old fashioned barista chat, this Brisbane café has ambiance aplenty!

The coffee is epic. Not just in taste, either—the coffee here is served up in huge bowl style cups without having to opt for a mug. The latte art is stunning and pretty much begs you to Instagram your coffee; it would be rude not to.  If our opinion alone doesn’t convince you, it may help to know these guys actually won Australian Barista Champion and were finalists in the World Barista Championships too. No big deal or anything…

There’s a small selection of food on offer—Lola isn’t the place to go if you’re after a huge feed, FYI—but it’s perfect for a sweet treat or snack to accompany your jumbo latte. We opted for a tomato, basil and mozzarella toastie on our visit, and it was delightful: perfectly cheesy, fresh and the ideal side dish to chats over coffee. The food on offer changes daily so be sure to have a sticky beak at the food cabinet and cakes on offer when you order. The sweet pastries are home made by owner Corinne and her husband Brett.

The verdict? We’re obsessed with this hole-in-the-wall coffee spot. It’s the perfect place to pack up your laptop and get some work done while slinging back perfect coffee after perfect coffee.
