The Village Markets
First on our list is the Gold Coast’s coolest and most popular market, The Village Markets. Held every second Sunday from 8:30am to 1:00pm, these markets boast an epic line-up of local stalls, selling everything from cool threads, jewellery and swimwear to succulents, crystals, homewares and artwork. But that’s not all. There’s also an incredible line up of food vendors so you can pick up a snack while you roam through rows and rows of the Gold Coast’s best market stalls. And to top it all off, there’s also live music supplied by talented local up-and-comers every morning, just to complete the laid-back, chilled out coastal market vibe that the Village Markets does so well. Find them at Burleigh Heads State School and be sure to bring some tote bags, because you won’t be leaving empty handed.
The Burleigh Market
If its fresh produce from local growers that you’re after, then look no further than The Burleigh Market. Held every Saturday from 7:00am to 12:00 noon, you can find just about everything in these market stalls to make the perfect meal. Think fresh produce, locally grown fruits and veg, organic goods, superfoods, meat, honey, dairy, baked goods, dips, chutneys, sauces, and locally roasted coffee, as well as art, antiques, collectables, fresh flowers and more. Yep, these guys have you covered, and by buying from these markets, you’re also supporting local growers. So, it’s a win-win. Held at Burleigh Heads State School, these markets are definitely a must-visit, whether you’re doing your weekly grocery haul, looking for a Saturday morning treat, or just wanting to stroll around a soak up those unbeatable morning market vibes. Gold Coast Art & Craft Market
The longest running arts and craft market, the Gold Coast Art & Craft Markets are a must on any market lover’s list. These markets were established over 30 years ago, and they’ve learned a thing or two along the way about how to put on an awesome morning of shopping. Located between the headland and north Burleigh along the Ocean Way path, the markets are perfect for Sunday strolls. Held on the last Sunday of each month from 8:00am to 2:00pm, these markets offer a unique shopping experience, with stalls run by local artisans, craftspeople, designers and creatives, as well as food and drink stalls and performances by local musicians. Buy yourself some market noms and a coffee, and snag a spot on the grass while soaking up the sun and the live tunes for the perfect Sunday morning.
