Boasting river and ocean views, lush leafy streets and home to Rodney’s Bait ‘n Tackle (aka our most favourite bar ever)—Mosman Park has also got major bragging rights when it comes to the restaurants and cafes in the area. It seems you really can have it all, except maybe a million-dollar mansion in said suburb.
There’s a whole lot of goodies made with local produce, some delicious Japanese fare and cutesy cafes to while away the day in.
Here’s 5 places you should visit in Mosman Park this weekend.
Good Things Cafe
You’ll find many good things at this lovely little cafe, including a delicious Micrology Coffee Brewers cup of joe, tasty breakfast and lunch options and smoothies for Perth’s most health conscious. We love the super-food muesli, avocado with whipped feta on toast, zucchini pasta with salmon, smashed crispy potatoes with haloumi and poached eggs, and caramelised banana-nut hotcakes with maple bacon.
With a whole bunch of twinkly fairy lights, a stunning garden area and super friendly staff, Tsunami in Mosman Park is one of Perth’s best and most romantic Japanese restaurants. Serving delicious share plates with tasty morsels like quail gyoza, pork loin cutlets in panko crumbs and smoked wagyu beef, as well as meals you get to cook yourself on a 400-degree volcanic rock, sashimi, rolls and sukiyaki. Topped off with a huge selection of sake and some quality wines, Tsunami will really get your tastebuds sizzling.
Fresh, seasonal and local food is what’s whipped up on the daily at Suburban Table on Stirling Highway. Everything from the bread to the ice cream is made in-house and with each visit there is always something new to try. Think yum cha style Fremantle squid, Morton Bay Bug wonton ravioli or crispy skin Barramundi. The modern Australian cum Asian influenced eatery also offers gourmet freezer meals which they deliver right to your door, so you can enjoy delicious, chef created gourmet meals from the comfort of your own home.
Serving up vibrant lunch and dinner options in a rustic setting, we highly recommend booking your next date night at Samson’s Paddock in Mosman Park. The menu is split up into three categories—lower paddock (snacks), middle paddock (starters) and top paddock (larger share plates). We can’t go past the beer battered chips served with truffle oil and parmesan cheese, the BBQ beef short ribs with roasted chat potatoes and Tex-Mex slaw and the fish moqueca with prawns, swordfish, squid, coconut, milk, coriander and rice. If you’re feeling extra carnivorous we recommend ordering the Samson’s Paddock—a char-grilled porterhouse steak tasting board featuring four different types of beef served with rustic veggies and gremolata.
Gill Street Cafe & Deli
On a quiet residential street in leafy Mosman Park, Perth cafe Gill Street Cafe & Deli serves fresh, seasonal produce seven days a week. Boasting a counter top full of tempting cakes and biscuits, brunch items include their popular bircher muesli and classic smashed avo toast, while lunch items range from vibrant slow roasted lamb toasted sandwiches to stuffed capsicums. This neighbourhood secret turned local favourite really does have something for everyone—including vegetarian and gluten free options. We reckon consistency is pretty important, and this place always dishes up delicious, filling meals and great coffee, backed by impeccably friendly service.
