There’s no denying that Perth has a well-established love for croissants. Ham and cheese, covered in almonds or traditional—we’re obsessed.
But how about buttery and flaky delights that really push the boundaries? Filled to the brim with weird and wonderful ingredients from buttermilk fried chicken to durian. That’s right, we’re talking about loaded croissants, and lucky for you, we’ve tracked down the best ones in Perth.
Hylin is dishing up the coolest collab croissant in Perth, and you need to try it immediately. Teaming up with StreetX, they’ve created an epic toasted croissant with buttermilk fried chicken, bacon, smoked mozzarella, poached egg, basil chilli aioli and maple syrup. We’re not drooling, you are.
With a name like the Croissant Royale, you know the crew at Chinta aren’t messing around when it comes to a croissant that’s fully loaded. The pastry is delicate and flaky, and it’s packed to the max with poached eggs, free range bacon, local brie, spinach and hollandaise.
For something different, Mr Chapple's soft shell crab croissant is everything you need and more. It’s topped with pickle crunch, fried egg, coriander and a generous drizzle of chilli hollandaise. Yes, we said pickle crunch.
The team at Croff Bakery isn’t shy when it comes to pairing large helpings of south-east Asian flavours with their perfectly-baked croissants. Some of their most popular flavours are the salted egg, char siew pork, beef rendang and kaya jam with coconut frangipane, or there’s durian for the more adventurous among us. They also do a fantastic plain croissant topped with smashed avocado, feta cheese and cherry tomatoes. Level up your breakfast game.
