We love nothing more than indulging in a jam-packed burger and we believe no one should be robbed of this juicy joy. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, health conscious or bored of your standard cheeseburger order, we have a list of mouth-watering options that will blow your mind.
Here are 10 of the best vegan and vegetarian burgers in Perth.
Pearth Organic Kitchen
Pearth's vegan burger is only full of the good stuff. Free of sugar, gluten and any other nasties, their fluffy brioche bun is packed with a massive lentil and walnut patty, moorish cashew mayo and fresh salad. Don’t even get us started on the side of sweet potato fries.
Brother Of Mine
A hidden treasure in Baldivis, Brother of Mine was created by two brothers (go figure) who have a passion for local produce and good coffee. Their Mexican black bean patty with avocado smash and vegan cheese is genius. All their burgers come with a side of chips and coleslaw; a plate of veggie heaven.
The Raw Kitchen
The Raw Kitchen’s pulled pork style jackfruit burger on their lunch menu is truly a masterpiece. Your choice of gluten-free or paleo bun is filled with house-made smoked BBQ sauce, fresh greens, grilled sweet potato, pickled cucumber, garlic aioli and a side of sauerkraut for good measure. This is a burger to cleanse your soul and the perfect pre or post yoga feed, and, as with everything at The Raw Kitchen, it’s 100% plant-based.
The 'Pear'fect Pantry
It’s no surprise that The 'Pear'fect Pantry knows how to make the perfect vegan burger. Take your pick from a vegan tempeh cheeseburger or a vegan breakfast burger for those days when you just need a burger pre-10am.
Lord Of The Fries
Every vegan in Perth already knows that Lord of the Fries is a sure bet for a good vegan burger. If you're looking for something meaty sans meat, get yourself a New Guru burger with a traditional vege patty for all sorts of spiritual well-being or get your mouth around the Aussie classic Parma burger with the 100% vegan schnitzel patty, Napoli sauce, cheese and bacon.
Leederville and Subiaco
Another burger joint who has gotten on the Beyond Meat bandwagon, Jus Burgers is pumping out the goods. If you want something heavy on the veggies though, the Bo-Hippian with halloumi and sauteed kale or the Tempeh-Tation is for you.
Any burger lover will have a field day with Varsity’s vegetarian option. Say hello to blue cheese, semi-dried tomatoes, capsicum, onion and stacks upon stacks of mushrooms. They've also got a vegan number with smokey BBQ sauce.
There is no denying that Grill'd deserves a mention on this list. After creating a vegan cheeseburger that the vegans weren't super impressed with they took it off the menu and came back with the Vegan Cheesebuger 2.0 which got two thumbs up from our green friends. We're also pretty partial to the Hemp Therepea which comes with an epic hemp and pea pattie and tzatziki which can be swapped out for vegan mayo.
If you thought Huxtaburger was just making meat-lovers happy, think again. They’re flipping up some banging veggie options because everyone deserves the unmatchable comfort of biting into a juicy burger. Try their Vege Denise which has a quinoa and spicy bean patty, with a kick of sriracha mayo and jalapenos gently tucked in between their signature brioche buns. If you want a healthier option, they have a kale, zucchini and quinoa patty burger, which comes with hummus and pickled onion.
Big Rigz has done us a massive favour with their awesome vegan and vego options. Sit in this awesome (and BYO) burger joint surrounded by graffiti walls and order big. Our pick is their Korean Vegan burger; think a mushroom, beetroot and walnut patty with pickled daikon, kimchi, Korean sauce and mayo.
Don’t be fooled, this greasy burger joint also serves some of the best greeny burgers around. Choose from their Fungi Shroom burger, their Beet Burger, or the Holy Mexican; a black bean burger in toasted brioche with nacho cheese sauce, smoked tomato relish and salad.
Northbridge, Wembley and North Fremantle
We can’t get enough of Flipside’s spicy chickpea and sweet potato patty. They have three delicious vegetarian burgers on the menu and, when requested, they can make them vegan-friendly so it’s a win-win for everyone.
