International Women’s Day is upon us once again—March 8—and to help celebrate the momentous day, Underground at Allendale Square will be hosting a range of events and workshops to celebrate women in the food and services industries.

Located in the heart of Perth on St George’s Terrace, the underground food and retail precinct will play host to a week of free workshops in the lead up to the big day so you can duck out for a little lunchtime empowerment.

Snap and Snack

We all love to snap an epic pic of our meal and thankfully we can learn the ins and outs of pro food photography with badass business owners Laura May Mosely and Danica Zuks who manage the photography assets and socials for the iconic, Mary Street Bakery.

Their photography skills are splashed over their Instagram account, undoubtedly helping them to grow the small business into a thriving enterprise. Plus, each attendee will also be able to snap and snack on the delicious pastries.

Farm-To-Table

We all know that the road after study is a windy one. With many career twists and turns after graduation, it’s no wonder most of us have ended up in careers vastly different from our majors.

Commercial lawyer turned agriculturist, Catherine Hamson from Hamlet Pork (one of Lalla Rookh’s delicious suppliers) will discuss her transition from the concrete jungle to the great outdoors while cooking up a mouth-watering storm of Italian food.

With a lifetime of knowledge and skills to share, Poh will be hosting cooking demos of some of her all-time favourite recipes while opening up about her experiences as a woman in the hospitality industry.
