Have you ever wanted to travel back in time and take in the sounds of a Shakespeare play in the original Globe Theatre? That’s a really specific thing to want to do, but now you’re going to get your chance to do just that.
This September—marking the 400th year since Shakespeare’s death—a full-scale replica of the second Globe Theatre will be built at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl (that's in Melbourne, FYI).
Over a period of six weeks, the three-storey, 900 person theatre will be putting on Shakespeare classics such as Much Ado About Nothing, As You Like It, Othello and Henry V—you’ll be able to catch epic battles, laugh-out-loud comedy, special effects, elaborate costumes, spectacular dances, and sword fights in full suits of armour.
It's time to book a weekend in Melbourne guys. But first, you can grab your tickets here, it’s an event you don’t want to be missing.
