One of Perth’s most iconic venues has undergone a facelift after six years of stardom on Hay Street.
The Stables Bar has seen additions to its iconic rustic space with a two-level expansion at the front, a street-front bistro and a basement bar.
The extension increases capacity from 500 to 675, just in time to welcome new guests for the opening of Perth’s only, Art Series Hotel.
City-goers can now stop by for morning coffee and pastries or gourmet takeaway eats like rotisserie chicken rolls and bone broth pot noodles for lunch from the street front bar and, once they’ve clocked-off, can enjoy after-work drinks over a game of pool in the intimate cocktail bar down in the basement.
Tim McLernon, general manager of Three Pounds Group, which owns The Stables Bar, envisions this transformation revitalising the sleepier west end of Perth’s CBD. “The West End has always hummed along nicely, this new expansion, combined with a broader hospitality offering in the West End will revitalise the area with increased foot traffic morning through to evening," McLernon says.
McLernon opened The Stables Bar back in 2013 and introduced Perth to The Reveley and Embargo Container Bar at Elizabeth Quay in 2016. Most recently, he opened The Camfield—Australia’s largest pub next to our state-of-the-art Optus Stadium. There’s no denying this man has a talent for breathing much-appreciated innovation and enticement into our expanding city—and we’re here for it.
The fit-out was completed by State of Kin and furnished by Mobilia—a match made in heaven when it comes to interiors.
To celebrate their expansion, The Stables is giving away free roast chicken rolls to the first 100 people through their doors on Tuesday 8 October. It all kicks off from 11am, so plan an early lunch break and keep it on the down-low so your colleagues don't spoil your fun.
