She was a music star who was credited with redefining the R&B and hip hop scene in the ‘90s, but tragically her life was cut far too short. Keen to see her legacy live on, Aaliyah Haughton’s fans started a petition to MAC to create her own range—and now they have it!
For those of you that have been living under a rock, Aaliyah died tragically in a plane crash in 2001. This new collection, which has officially landed Down Under, is “a tribute to the beloved R&B icon and the generation she inspired.”
There are four shades of lipstick in the range, including Try Again, a soft, muted beige and a cool deep luxe red called More Than a Woman.
Aaliyah was well-known for her nude, glossy lips and the collection pays tribute to this with four lipglasses, including a street nude and a rich purple.
The range also includes an eye pallet, called Age Ain’t Nothing, of nine unique shades. Included are metallic golds, sterling silvers with names such as Magic Moor, Lovesmoke and Princess of Soul. Pulled together it is a sultry collection that’s sure to impress.
With stunning packaging and gorgeous colours and textures, you’ll need to be quick to make sure you get your hands on this limited release.
