Where To Eat After You Vote, Election Day Perth, Perth Election Day, Perth Cafes, Perth Vote

Some people love voting, some hate it and others take it so seriously they number every single box on their ballots (i.e. me), but when it comes to the best thing about voting, it’s definitely the $2 sausage sizzle you grab on the way out. That is unless you’re on your way to one of these awesome places to get your post-voting fill of goodness.

Categorised by electorate, here’s where to eat after you vote on this Saturday's election day in Perth.

Johnny’s Burgers, Canning Vale

Named after Australia’s longest running prime minister (not really), Johnny’s Burgers will ease your post-voting hunger. Serving some of the most authentic American-style burgers this side of the equator, be sure to grab a side of curly fries and a milkshake if you’ve worked up a big appetite.

Core Cider House, Pickering Brook

What better way to deal with politics than chucking a whole lot of tasty cider down your gulper? Grab a bunch of share plates like their duck liver pate, goats cheese and apple tarts or gorgonzola arancini and you’re on your way to make voting day the best day ever.

Genesis In The Hills, Roleystone

Greenies will want to head directly to Genesis In The Hills for their fill of delectable vegan and vegetarian fare. Hiding among the trees in Roleystone this friendly little Perth cafe dishes out organic eats like smoothie bowls and shakshuka.

Gill Street Cafe & Deli, Mosman Park

If numbering all of those boxes has made you hungrier than a hippo, Gill Street Cafe & Deli have you sorted this election day. Their all-day breakfasts are bang on and feature goodies like baked eggs, wild mushroom bruschetta and a tasty avo and feta smash.

Little Way, Nedlands

Lure yourself out of bed on voting day with the idea of treating yourself to a delicious breakfast at Little Way afterwards. We freakin’ love the toasted banana bread with ice cream and maple syrup, but if you’re more of a savoury person you can’t go wrong with the eggs benny.

Odyssea, City Beach

Take in the glory of our marvellous State with a view of City Beach as you chow down on your post-vote breakfast. The 65-degree eggs or the house crumpets with mascarpone, lemon curd, roasted quince and toasted almonds sound pretty good to us.

Roasting Warehouse, South Fremantle

If the roasted polenta and chorizo stack from the Roasting Warehouse in South Fremantle doesn’t get you out of bed on election day, you probably should have cast a postal vote and called it a day. Served with eggs, vine ripened cherry tomatoes, halloumi, roast pepper puree and salsa verde, this dish is a thing of beauty.

Barque Restaurant, East Fremantle

Wake up, vote and head directly to Barque in East Fremantle before your tummy disintegrates due to hunger. We reckon the Barque bacon served with wok rice and a fluffy egg would do you well.

Propeller, North Fremantle

Fremantle voters would do well to head to Propeller once they’ve handed their ballots in on Saturday. This super cool refurbished bus garage of a cafe serves tasty brekkies, but more importantly they have breakfast cocktails. Bloody Mary’s and mimosas to be exact!

Jack & Jill, Kalamunda

Call me ignorant, but where the heck do they get these electorate names from? Ehhh who really cares when Jack & Jill are serving up a freaking incredible brioche French toast with mandarin curd, vanilla bean cheesecake and fresh raspberries. Yes, that is one dish and yes, you must try it.

Le Croissant Du Moulin, Gooseberry Hill

Eat all of the pastries and drink all of the coffee post-vote at this awesome French patisserie, boulangerie and cafe in Gooseberry Hill. You will have forgotten that your vote doesn’t really matter when your bowl of coffee rocks up.

Voyage Kitchen, Sorrento

Celebrate local this election day at Voyage Kitchen in Sorrento. Order the farm yard or veggie patch breakfasts and a cup of their house blend coffee. You won’t be disappointed!

Pixel Coffee Brewers, Leederville

Perth constituents have a heck load of cafes to choose from for their post-vote feed this Saturday, but we know we’d choose Pixel Coffee Brewers for a bowl of their warming quinoa porridge and a cup of their amazeballs coffee.

tbsp., Bayswater

Be sure to vote before Bayswater’s tbsp. closes to catch the tasty action of their all-day breakfast menu. The brioche French toast is legit, but if you’re more of a savoury tooth, the chorizo French toast with slow cooked egg, breadcrumbs and smoked pepper relish is flippin’ delicious.

The Hardware Store, Scarborough

The Hardware Store will not disappoint Stirling voters this election day. Grab a cold pressed juice—the Go Troppo is delish with pineapple, mango, banana and apple—and The Tool Box—a legit Aussie breakfast with eggs your way, bacon, sausage, cherry tomatoes and a hash brown.

Yelo, Trigg

Northies, we strongly recommend you go for a post-vote beach walk before heading to Yelo at Trigg for their takeaway brekkie goodness. Definitely grab a muffin (and a cup of their killer coffee of course).

Cafe 2TwentyFour, Belmont

Nutella waffles are a thing at Cafe 2TwentyFour in Belmont and they’re sure to ease your post-voting hunger this election day. They’ve also got sticky date waffles and a whole bunch of freakshakes, just to make sure your sugar shakes stick around until the votes are counted.

Gusto Food, South Perth

Swan voters, once you’ve finished joining the queue at the polling booths, hop on over to Gusto Food in South Perth and join the queue there for their delicious homemade crumpets with berry compote and peanut gravel.

Nic & Kolo, Applecross

There we go again with the weird electorate names, what the what is a Tagney? I guess it doesn’t really matter so long as Nic & Kolo is in Tagney. You’ll be in for a treat at this Applecross newby thanks to Head Chef Nick Trezise of COMO The Treasury and Print Hall fame.

Blend Cafe & Pizza Bar, Melville

If you feel like you made the wrong choice in the vote, make the right choice and order the potato cake from Blend in Melville. Stacked high with bacon, spinach, a poached egg and hollandaise, this dish is a thing of beauty and you’ll have forgotten your voting blunder before you know it.
