The perfect muffin is moist (soz), has a decent sized muffin top (the only time that’ll ever be a positive) and be filled with plenty of goodies like chocolate chunks, peanut butter, banana, raspberries and poppy seeds—and you’ll find plenty of muffs like this in good ol’ P-town.
Here’s where to find some of Perth’s best muffins.
Tucked into Shafto Lane in the Perth CBD, Hooper Espresso is serving some super tasty muffins. Think strawberry and Nutella, peanut butter, banana and chocolate and roasted apple and cinnamon. Yum!
il Lido have us fooled that muffins originated in Italy, because theirs are so gosh darn good. The flavours change on the reg, but sweet or savoury, they can do no wrong.
Moore & Moore Cafe
Moore & Moore’s muffins are worth being late to class/work for. They’ve got a sizable muffin top and they’re moist and tasty. Make sure you opt to have yours toasted and served with butter, it only makes them more delicious!
You can always count on the baked goods from Daisies Cottesloe, but especially the muffins. Their old slogan—one muffin not enuffin–is one that we live by, so next time you’re in the hood, stop by for a muff to remember.
Flora & Fauna
If you thought muffins were a no-frills, eat on the go kind of food, you only have to visit Flora & Fauna in Northbridge and they’ll prove you wrong. Served with flowers, petals, berries and smears of jam, these muffs taste as beautiful as they look.
Taylor Rd IGA
Bet you wouldn’t have thought you’d find an IGA on this list? Well, we like to give credit where credit is due and the muffins from Taylor Rd IGA deserve a heck load of it! You can’t really go wrong, but the raspberry white chocolate or the blueberry and Lindt chocolate muffins will serve you well.
Maylands and Highgate
Good old Mrs S makes some of the tastiest muffins in Perth. Cut in half, toasted and served with butter, these beauties go down a treat. Don’t forget to grab one to go once you’ve finished your breakfast!
Plenty of good things are served at this lovely little cafe in Mosman Park, and the muffins in particular score top points. Big, doughy and delicious, the chocolate and banana muffin is our fave!
Trigg and Subiaco
The chocolate and banana muffin from Yelo is the bomb diggity. Loads of melty chocolate goodness and banana make this one super moorish.
The Hardware Store
The muffins baked on the daily at The Hardware Store in Scarborough are stiff competition to the rest of the breakfast fare on offer there. If you’re not in the mood for choosing, enjoy a muffin chaser after your brekkie.
Made in-house each day, put Gusto Foods’ muffs on your hit-list, stat. And the best bit, you can get these babies to-go, so that means no lining up for a table. Yes!
Stay tuned for the savoury muffin round up, but for now, here’s 10 Of Perth’s Best Bakeries!
