Just when we thought 2018 couldn’t get any better, we heard ground-breaking news that our absolute fave late-night Japanese-inspired joint, Goros, is reopening (!!!). Yes, we’re serious, and yes, you kinda need to scurry your way over to Surry Hills right now.
If you’ve never heard of this quirky izakaya-style party palace, you haven’t lived (#soznotsoz). Jam-packed with custom built karaoke rooms, yakitori and arcade games, it’s a good thing they don't worry about lockout and stay open until 3am.
With an extensive sake and cocktail list, plus a delicious new menu featuring a truckload of karaage chicken and burgers with a Japanese twist (think a crispy chicken burger with Japanese BBQ sauce, and a Teriyaki beef burger), whether you’re stopping by for an early dinner or a midnight snack (the kitchen stays open until 2am on weekends), you’re guaranteed a bloody good time.
The best part? They’re throwing a hectic re-opening party this Saturday 24 February. We’re talking complimentary drink on arrival (until 8pm), samples of their epic new menu, live DJs (AKA Shantan Wantan Ichiban from triple j and the gang from Purple Sneakers), and free karaoke until 3am.
See you there.
