If there’s one place guaranteed to spark your culinary curiosity, it has to be Sydney’s new-school Vietnamese joint, Hello Auntie.
Home to seriously good cocktails, soul-soothing pho, Vietnamese spaghetti bolognese and dinner specials you can only see under UV light—executive chef Cuong Nguyen has something new to share to keep you feeling toasty this winter.
We’re talking Sydney’s very first pho-brined fried chicken, or ga chien mui pho. Yep, Nguyen has basically re-invented the classic pho dish making it crispier and better than ever. That means you’ll be able to sink your teeth into a 12-hour brined pho chicken coated in crumbly pho-infused batter all paired with a side of special pho-infused sauce.
To really amp your winter feasting up, you can also nab a kilo serving of the juicy pho fried chicken with a bottle of champagne (Boll & Cie) and all the sauce for $100. If you’re not keen on a fried chicken-induced food coma, there’s also the option to downsize to a piece of pho chicken and a glass of Boll & Cie for $20.
Hello Auntie’s pho-brined fried chicken feast will only be available for two weeks (from Friday 3 July until Friday 17 July) and only at its Marrickville outpost.
