Sculpture By The Sea brings together a few of our favourite things—Sydney’s beautiful coastline, sunshine (hopefully), art, and now… food! Sydney café darling, The Grounds of Alexandria have announced they will once again be opening a pop-up café in Marks Park, Bondi and it’s safe to say we’re pretty damn excited.
Grounds by the Sea has been inspired by the fantastical works of JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis, and promises to be a quirky, fun and totally ‘grammable experience (and that’s not only due to the Instagram printer that will be on site). The cottage, that’s been constructed at a farm an hour out of Sydney, will be loaded onto a truck and transported to its hilltop location in a few days, and we’re expecting nothing short of amazing from the guys from The Grounds. Word about town says that even the grass for the roof has been specifically grown for the last six months in the making of this magical cottage. That’s commitment.
Beyond the grassy roof and some of the best views in Sydney, Grounds by the Sea will also be serving up healthy brekkies, tasty lunches including their famous burgers and slow-cooked lamb shoulder wraps as well as the Grounds sausage sandwich (and who doesn’t love a sausage sanga?). On the drinks side of things there’ll be a range of fresh juices and smoothies and, wait for it… slurpees! Sold from a treehouse! We can’t wait.
Open to hungry exhibition goers from 22nd October at 7am (bright and early!) for 18 delicious days, until 8th November at 7pm, we suggest you plan a strategic time to get there as it’s going to be crazy popular.
