We Get Our Meat On At Mumu Grill | The Verdict

Carnivores, assemble! Lovers of all things cow will not be disappointed with this Sydney steakhouse. Up there with some of the best restaurants in Sydney's north, Mumu Grill brings together a wonderful (and meaty) fusion of Spanish and modern Australian flavours.

Sustainable, organic and delicious is the way of life at Mumu Grill. We kick things off with jamon serrano from the jamon bar, that's been aged for 15 to18 months. Served thinly sliced, it's a great way to begin our meat-filled adventure. We then try the Hervey Bay scallops with cauliflower puree and smoked pimento which are beautifully cooked and down-right tasty!

Moving on to mains, the beef at Mumu Grill is 100 per cent grass-fed and sourced from all corners of the continent. We tried the Kimel Aged Sirloin crusted with Papua New Guinean coffee beans and Szechwan pepper. It was tender, juicy and tasted so good it made us wonder why we'd never paired caffeine and cow before.

Now let's take a second to talk about the ribs. Oh, the ribs! Here you have two options: slow cooked beef ribs in gaucho sauce and slow cooked pork in house-made BBQ sauce. These bad boys fall off the bone at your command and left us in a state of meaty ecstasy.

If you're anything like us, all that beef will have you building up a hefty thirst. But fear not, Mumu Grill has got you covered. The bar is big on local craft beers and features a rotating selection so you can always try something new. If beer isn't your thing, the lychee and lemongrass martini is a winner with locals (and with us!). And for the wine enthusiasts, you will love the long list of reds and whites on offer.

With entrees and mains deliciously devoured, it's time to prepare your extra stomachs for dessert. Chocolate lovers will adore the decadent chocolate tart with a citrus twist that's served on a macadamia shortbread base. Yum! We opted for their famous brown sugar pavlova with fresh pineapple and passionfruit sauce which was perfectly sweet and a wonderful way to end the meal.

The space is modern, light-filled and makes the transition from day-time dining to a cosy evening spot like a pro. With a private dining room available for your next work function or group dinner and a selection of cooking classes on offer, Mumu Grill is a no-brainer if you're on the hunt for a great steak on the north side.
