This Weekend In Sydney

Food, wine and charity are the themes for this weekend, and we're going on a mission to conquer them all. Starting the working week with a new PB, redecorated home, case of wines and money donated to a worthy charity is a sure-fire way to make your Monday a happy one!

"Drink Coffee, Do Good" is the simple ethos that CafeSmart abides by, and really, who doesn't want to grab some feel good vibes with their morning caffeine hit? Last year, a solid $83,000 was raised for local homelessness services simply through participating cafes donating $1 from every coffee sold on the day. So skip your regular coffee spot today and head online to find a place near you that chooses to deliver some charitable care along with their morning rush.

Suckling pig, coal roasted lamb, kangaroo, wild boar, beef brisket and smoky BBQ beef short ribs… No, you're not dreaming. It's what you'll find at The Animal at Newtown Hotel this Saturday for their explosively decadent and cholesterol raising Meat Fair! Craft beers will be making the rounds as live music from 200K keeps the feast alive and the bewildered vegans away. Prepare yourselves for the ensuing meat sweats.

If you missed the Autumn Dreamers Market filled with all the unique, handmade goodies you could possibly need, fear not! This Saturday, the Dreamers are back for the winter installment at the Riverside Theatres in Parramatta. It's the perfect opportunity to bag some sparkly, crafty pieces and pretend you're going to finish those dusty projects you began a year ago before relegating them to bottom drawer.

For the fitness fanatics who have been training relentlessly for months or the casual morning joggers that look forward to their coffee more than smashing a PB, the City2Surf is an event for absolutely everyone. Join in the festivities by signing up, choosing a charity and wrangling some donations from your coworkers. If competing isn't your thing, sit on the sidelines with a beer and shout a round for those brave souls who ran the entire way. Bondi is going to turn into one big party, so head to The Bucket List, Bondi Hardware or PaperPlanes to join the fun!

For a relaxing Sunday afternoon spent with the best wine and nibbles Sydney has to offer, Balmoral Beach is the place to be. An animal farm will be open for the kiddies (and adults!) who want to cuddle some lambs and other adorable farm animals. With a choice of around 30 wineries from the Mudgee region to taste, you'd be hard pressed walking away without a new favourite vino and snack to match.
