Halleluiah, the weekend is finally here! Anyone else feel like this week went on forever? Now, we know that the weather forecast is a little touch and go this weekend, but, we gotta eat amiright?

From cute-as-a-button hole in the walls to out and out wallet-bashing, we’ve got so much choice when it comes to filling up this weekend.

Here’s our pick of 6 Brisbane cafes and restaurants to check out this weekend. Get out there, gang!

The Lamb Shop

Bowen Hills

In need of the perfect lamb roast for Sunday lunch? Maybe you’re just after the most delicious souvlaki this side of the Mediterranean? Whatever you’re craving, The Lamb Shop probs has you covered. Their slow cooked spit-roasted meat served with fresh pitas and incredible authentic Greek sides will affect you. Food addiction is real!

Fortitude Valley

Causing a stir in Fortitude Valley is late night bar and restaurant, Umami. Serving up some of the quirkiest cocktails we ever did see—smoking teapot, anyone? Perhaps an alcoholic bubble tea? Umami is your new Valley haunt. Oh, and they’ve levelled up on the fried chicken trend: VFC (that's Viet Fried Chicken to you and me). Get there now!

Newstead Brewing Co.

Setting up their second location just around the corner from Suncorp Stadium, Newstead Brewing Co.'s new digs in Milton are right in the mix! This gorgeous new beer hall is perfect for a post-work pint or weekend session; stop by for their famous on-site brewed beer and a peek at the gastro-style menu.

Fortitude Valley

New Farm's newbie drinking den, Deathproof is more than just a local dive bar; these guys want to to have some serious fun. The tiny space is adorned with neon lights, hand painted murals—quite literally from ceiling to floor—and use some mean looking skull glasses for your drinks. On the menu you'll find signature cocktails made with Plantation Rum as well as Sailor Jerry-infused espresso martinis and Aussie beers on tap courtesy of Young Henrys, plus some dynamite bar snacks to keep you on the straight and narrow…

The Brass Barrel

Show these guys some love after the past few days (damn you Cyclone Debbie!) and make sure to drop by for a feed. With a gorgeous menu, The Brass Barrel takes brekky, lunch and dinner to new dining heights with soon-to-be icons such as their cheese hash browns—don’t even get us started on the sriracha hollandaise on their eggs benny!

The Long Apron

Take a drive this weekend up the coast and into Montville—it’s damn right gorgeous up there! Hungry? Then you HAVE to stop in for a long lunch at The Long Apron; it’s that good. Bestowed with two hats, this is something a little bit special but it’s anything but stuffy. Think delicious dishes all made using local Hinterland ingredients and probably the most beautiful you’ll ever stuff in your face.

Want a little more food inspo to make it through the weekend? Try to make it through this list of insane Brisbane burgers.
