Popcorn at the ready, Brisbane!
From the absolute legends that lovingly restored the much-loved New Farm Six Cinemas on Brunswick St—our social lives have never looked back, FYI—comes a brand new, totally stunning cinema in the middle of the CBD. Get ready to clock up some serious movie-watching time, guys, at the gorgeous Elizabeth Picture Theatre.
Converting the iconic Tara House on Elizabeth St, Elizabeth Picture Theatre will pay homage to the beautiful heritage building, ensuring that its former beauty will be restored to all its glory and enjoyed by all us movie buffs out there (just remember not to drop your choc top on the new carpets…).
Elizabeth Picture Theatre is slated to house 7 screens, with the grand ballroom planned to hold up to 121 cinema goers all while adhering to the original layout of the existing building. To top things off, there are plans for some of Brisbane's best eateries to be housed in the foyer—meaning all of the foods for proper movie consumption!
With planning permission given the all clear, work is due to start on the new Brisbane cinema asap, so keep your eyes peeled for progress and launch dates!
