Packaged-up morsels of deliciousness, dumplings are the culinary rendering of throw cushions except actually useful. Whether you take them steamed or fried, if you’re a red-blooded human with a working tongue you’re gonna bloody FOAM over Welcome to Bowen Hills’ inaugural Dimmie and Dumpling festival.
Rollicking for the weekend of 21 and 22 July, this souped-up dumpling celebration is the perfect pre-cursor to the Night Noodle Markets where punters can hone in on all the gyozas, har gow, and xiao long bao their stomachs can hold. The full list of stallholders is yet to be released but DON’T PANIC because we’ll let you know what to expect just as soon as is humanely possible.
Entry to the festival is free, and there’s an ATM on site for quick cash withdrawals if you end up burning through your wad (which, face it, is more than likely). And best of all, dogs are welcome.
