The precinct in and around James Street’s illustrious The Calile complex is fast becoming some of the most sought-after in the country, enticing some of the biggest names in the food and fashion industry to set up concept stores around the newly opened boutique hotel.
With the impending completion of the precinct’s Ada Lane, which already houses local luxury brands such as Venroy, Calexico Man and Brisbane icon Jocelyn’s Provisions, one more spot has just been confirmed to be taken up by Gelato Messina.
The infamous Surry Hills gelateria’s reputation preceded itself when they first made their way to Southbank more than three years ago. Opening one of the largest stores in the country, Gelato Messina’s only Queensland location featured an impeccable fit-out alongside their quirky gelato flavours—and those famous lines around the block.
Now, Gelato Messina is taking up residency along Ada Lane, set to open on March 21 (pending construction completion), and let’s put it this way, it’s going to change the Valley’s eating habits.
The Fortitude Valley location will carry all 40 of their classic flavours and will be housed in a brand new, state-of-the-art glass freezer that protects their famous flavours from heat and humidity. Everything will be churned on site daily and will also carry their incredible range of ice cream cakes.
Mark March 21 in the calendar, the team will be opening doors and serving up gelato all day long.
