'The Newstead, New Farm, and Valley area is full of great venues that offer great food, or bars that are perfect for an after-work drink. Rarely do we find a venue that does both, so it's no surprise we are crazy about Chester Street Kitchen's recent refurb'.
A short stroll from our Brunswick Street branch, Chester Street have only recently reopened to the public, with a menu you'd be more than happy to sample of a Friday evening (or any other night of the week, for that matter!). We had the bacon and leek croquettes, the duck fat chips, with truffle salt and aioli, and the duck and mushroom pie (ok, so we like duck).
We also had the pork belly special, which was off-the-charts good.
Chester Street Bakery is also a very convenient spot to drop into on the way to work for a morning caffeine hit (and their selection of freshly baked sweet treats and breads are not too shabby for breakfast on the run—baked in their very own in-house, wood-fired oven). We also hear very good things about their brunch, including an impressive cocktail list and line up of smoothies, and on until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday! (We've got our eye on the chocolate brioche with strawberries and mascarpone.)'
