If the buzz and rush of adrenalin that took over your life during the Rio Olympics has left a Thorpie sized hole in your life, boy oh boy, do we have good news for you. This year, the 2017 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships are calling little old Brisbane home. Over five action packed nights Australia’s absolute best swimmers—yep, the same ones you were cheering for during Rio—will be competing for a coveted place on the Australian Dolphins team. It’s all very, very exciting.
The best bit though, is that you can actually get up close at the event with dedicated fan zone, Centre Lane. Centre Lane will be the ultimate spot to dive in, and lap up the action between the heats with music pumping, food trucks, and plenty of fun activities going down.
As with everything we do, there needs to be a food component to maintain or concentration and blood sugar levels, and this event does not disappoint. Food truck royalty will be in attendance, with the likes of How We Rolls for epic BBQ eats, Frozen Sunshine (gourmet ice blocks, anyone?), Rolling Stone Pizza, Mr Barista, Boost, and the Coon Toastie Truck all ready to sate your appetite. Watching other people perform incredible feats of athleticism really makes you hungry, after all. With this much on offer you’d be a fool not to make a day of it (or night)!
Ready to dive in? Lap up the action at the Aus Champs!
