It’s the little luxuries in life that put a smile on our dial. Be it the daily flat white habit that borders on addiction, that slab of chocolate cake in the fridge you promised yourself you wouldn’t eat but devoured the whole thing anyway, or that well-deserved draank at the end of a long day. Whatever your vice, we say treating yourself is good for the soul.
It might surprise some of you to learn then that Cuvée Lounge Bar, hidden inside the French hotel, Sofitel Brisbane Central, is definitely worth a spot on your list of Brisbane bars that celebrate the finer things.
Now, before you roll your eyes at me, Cuvée is not your average hotel bar. With floor-to-ceiling glass walls overlooking Anzac Square and the beautiful clock tower of central station, the views alone are worth a sticky!
With an impressive selection of French vintage and non-vintage Champagnes, wines, and high-end spirits, the drinks menu is elegant and European-inspired. Also on the menu is a worthy choice of local drops, plus hand crafted cocktails courtesy of Cuvée’s in-house mixologist.
If you’re feeling hungry, do a la Parisienne and drop in to Cuvée Lounge Bar for le gouter (morning or afternoon tea-time to those that don’t speak the language of love). Croissants, crepes, French pastries, bowls of hot chocolate (yes, bowls!); you name it; they’ve got you covered. But it’s not just the sweet stuff that gets the nod; an all-day dining menu (Euro-style, natch) also features, alongside delish tasting plates and tapas dishes, making Cuvée Lounge Bar a great little spot to fill up in style.
The best bit about Cuvée Lounge Bar? If you’ve had a few too many and want a place to rest your head, a room at Sofitel seems far more reasonable (read: grown-up) than falling asleep in the back of a taxi (or, worse, on your mates manky sofa).
Fancy checking out Cuvée Lounge Bar for yourself? Mention The Urban List when ordering two or more dishes off the bar menu, and you’ll receive a Champagne cocktail on the house per customer! Ooh la la! (offer runs until June 14th 2015).
