Been hitting the gym? Making good on those resolutions? Prove it. Show us how tough you are with a tussle on the Tough Mudder monkey bars that just popped up in King George Square.

Just in case you weren’t aware of how much grit it takes to complete the Tough Mudder course, let me warn you that these bars are nothing like the flimsy things you might have cut your teeth on in primary school. As the signature obstacle of Tough Mudder’s infamous course, these bars are the ultimate tester to see if you’ve got what it takes to complete the whole ordeal, mud inclusive. For some tips on how to approach this iron beast, check out this video for an idea of what you’re in for.

My arms are sore just watching that.

This year, South-east Queensland’s Tough Mudder will be held on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May, and now is when the dormant Spartans start preparing for the most punishing mud run in the country. If you’ve ever fancied joining them (or yourself a bit of a stud) then you should definitely check out this mud-free taster of what the assault course is like.
