Always wanted to learn to drift, or just pelt around a race track at full throttle without actually risking tyres, life or limb in your not-exactly-a-racecar Mazda 3?

At VR Motorsports, you can, thanks to six virtual racecar simulations that mimic the real thing. Bonus, you can hit the bar between races—which you definitely can’t do in real life.

The simulators at the Cannon Hill bar are pretty much the closest thing you can get to hopping into an actual race car and hitting the track. Designed for drivers and motorsports enthusiasts by the owner himself, they’ve been created with realism, safety and driver immersion in mind. Six powerful actuators make the simulation machine move in all directions, ensuring you feel every bump, drift, nudge and roll. Meanwhile, a massive wrap around screen provides a 180 degree field of view.

Once you’re settled in, there’s over 450 cars and 150 tracks to choose from, with something for every skill level—no need to be a professional driver, although you might wish you were after a few sessions.

Post-race, whether you’ve won or crashed and burned, you can hit the bar, with plenty of brews and spirits to celebrate or commiserate your result. Got a big crew, or an event coming up? The venue is also available for private bookings and event hire—your next boys night out, sorted.
