June’s brought with it cool(ish) temps and plenty of new Brisbane bars, restaurants, and cafes to check out. Now’s the time of year to explore cozy nooks and hearty dishes; the time of year for red wine and dawdling over the dessert menu, and we’ve found the best new venues in town to do just that.

Here are 7 of our fave new Brisbane bars, breakfast spots, superfood joints, and dumpling houses.

Bowen Arrow Café

Bowen Hills

Your morning commute just got more delicious. New Brisbane café, Bowen Arrow have a moreish takeaway breakfast menu just begging for you to drop in. Bagels are the hero dish, with avo’ toast, ham and cheese croissants, other and brekky faves on offer. There are also acai bowls and cold-pressed juice for the virtuous, and bucket loads of Dramanti Coffee on hand for the rest of us.

The Tree House

Fortitude Valley

Stocked with organic beers, wines, and top-shelf spirits, The Tree House is a new Brisbane bar with a focus on natural bevvies. Adjoining Peter-Pan themed café, Lost Boys, and with an equally enchanting Neverland theme, The Tree House is catering to health-conscious crowd who don’t think health-conscious means sober, with a tasty vego tapas menu, with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options to accompany your drinks.

Pineapple Express

Hamilton

Paleo kids, superfood junkies, and general health nuts, get excited, because there’s a new Brisbane café on scene catering just to you and your many intolerances! Pineapple Express are whizzing up smoothies, acai bowls, and high-protein fare for breakfast and lunch from their cute Portside digs.

Harajuku Gyoza

South Bank

Temple to gyoza and good times, Harajuku, now has a third Brisbane venue in South Bank. Rest assured the sake will be flowing and the dumplings won’t stop coming—sure to appease the hungriest salary man or woman.

Molten Store

New Farm

Internet darling, Molten Store, is now yours to explore IRL as all the shiny, pretty things have gathered in one new bricks-and-mortar Brisbane treasure trove. Tucked back from the hustle of the street, Molten Store’s new James Street premises has a charming, celestial vibe, with tablesful of bags, jewellery, and pretty adornments begging to be worn out the door.

Kiosk

Fortitude Valley

This new Brisbane kiosk bears no resemblance to the tuck shop of your school days. Kiosk—the latest venture by the hip cats behind Laruche and Gerard’s Bistro, among others—will see all our takeaway dreams come at once, dishing up a simple and delicious breakfast and lunch menu of toasts, sandwiches, and salads, made all the more enticing by a cocktail list that’s clearly designed to be enjoyed in the sunshine. Perch on a marble table and sip on a coconut, jump up on the balcony and enjoy the view, or takeaway and eat in private—they’re easy. On the weekends Kiosk joins brother venue Laruche and transforms into an easy breezy outdoor bar. We’re in love!

Farrier

New Farm

Cosy supper club, Farrier, has taken roost above the Queen’s Arms Hotel on James Street. Craft brews, low lights, and exposed brick make for a decidedly winter-friendly new Brisbane bar, perfect for romantic late-night rendezvous.
