As far as climate goes, here in Perth, we’re pretty damn lucky. It's sunny most of the time, it rarely rains for more than a couple of days straight, and we don’t get much damaging weather (besides that one time it hailed in 2010. #wewillrebuild).
But despite the fact that the sun is out most of the time, there is just something extra magical and spectacular about the spring sunshine, isn’t there? It feels like such a treat after a few months of cloudiness and light showers, and makes you so darn happy that all you want to do is go have beers with your buddies.
So to help you kick off your sunshine celebrations, here are 12 Perth bars you should enjoy a bevvy at this spring.
Even if you don’t live, work or socialise anywhere near the CBD, you still need to check out The Reveley down at Elizabeth Quay. Once inside, you can head up to Henry’s Rooftop Bar to bask in the glorious spring sunshine, sip on bespoke cocktails and munch on share plates all whilst enjoying the city and river views. It really doesn’t get much better than that, does it?
It’s not often the mere name of a venue can bring a smile to your face, but that is the case with Little Way. Just the thought of it makes us happy. Why? It could be their speccy location by the river; their charming outdoor garden space; their street-side dining area; their boutique wine list; their craft beers; or their fresh and modern food menu. We don’t know exactly what it is, but what we do know is that this is the perfect spot to spend a spring day or night.
Sweetwater Rooftop Bar
The new gem of a bar in East Freo is guaranteed to make your day. Beautifully decked-out with stellar views of the Swan River, sweet tunes and a smashing cocktail list, you really won’t want to leave Sweetwater. It’s a good thing they do delicious food as well, so you really could just stay all day.
Alfred’s is coolness, personified. Tucked away down a flight of stairs on Barrack Street, this is where you should be going for spring-time Friday night drinks in the city. Oh and a spot of pizza, obviously. Good quality wines, some very special cognac and old-school rock’n’roll is all on the cards here. Perfection, in our opinion.
Isle Of Voyage
The team behind Sorrento’s Voyage Kitchen have brought their magic to Elizabeth Quay. Their new restaurant, Isle of Voyage, is situated on its own island (um, awesome) and has rather speccy views of the city and river. The menu is full of delicious items that showcase local WA produce, and pair perfectly with the beer, wine and cocktails on offer.
Petition Beer Corner
We've said it before, and we’ll say it again—there is just something about spring that makes you want a nice cold frothie, isn’t there? Well what better place to enjoy one than at Petition Beer Corner. With so many local and imported beers to choose from, there is no better venue to kick back with a cold one.
Budburst Small Bar
This friendly neighbourhood bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a springtime bevvie. Housed in a 100-year old cottage, Budburst has two alfresco areas perfect for basking in the sunshine as you sip your wine. If beer is more your thing, they have loads of that too, as well as a selection of charcuterie plates and French-inspired share plates. Just talking about it gets us excited for spring time at Budburst.
Bathers Beach House
This beachfront bar/restaurant is the ultimate eating and drinking destination on a sunny spring day. Nab yourself a spot on the balcony at Bathers Beach House, or at one of their outdoor tables and lap up at that beautiful spring weather whilst enjoying one of their craft beers, wines or cocktails—and getting stuck in to their tasty share plates.
Perched atop the historic old West Australian print factory, Bob’s Bar is easily one of our favourite rooftop bars in Perth. It's the perfect place for vitamin D infused lunches or casual drinks after work now that it's light for longer than a hot minute after you leave the office.
The Guildford Hotel
Why not go for a spring road trip to Guildford? This restored beauty is ready and raring to make your day, whether it be for a feast of tasty dishes in their courtyard or drinks in the beer garden. Boasting the best beer, wine and produce the Swan Valley has to offer, The Guildford HAS to be on your spring hit list.
Percy Flint’s boozery and eatery is a new addition to South Terrace, and we are mighty happy about it. Quality drinks and delicious share plates await you, all to be enjoyed in the laid-back charm and relaxed atmosphere of South Freo.
HangOut On 20 Preston
This place has beer, wine, cocktails, tapas and sweet jazz sounds to spice up your spring day, but the real kicker is their Sunday session. On glorious spring days, the crew at HangOut on 20 Preston cook up their dishes in the beer garden so you can watch your food being prepared as you enjoy your bevvy.
