With our office based in Northbridge we couldn’t have been more excited to hear that one of our favourite gelato makers, Chicho Gelato, are setting up shop in our bustling little ‘burb.
Chicho Gelato’s adorable gelato carts can often be seen parked at hawkers markets around Perth but this Friday, they will open their very first gelataria on William Street in Northbridge.
Having studied at gelato university in Italy, the cold creamy stuff made by owners Carly and Cesare De Bartolo is the shiz-nit. It’s the kind of gelato that actually tastes the way it sounds, made with nothing artificial and only the best ingredients.
Gelato lovers can expect quirky, delicious flavours—like lavender honeycomb, jalapeno pineapple and matcha green tea with caramelised white chocolate—a free flowing chocolate tap and seasonal specials like the Chicho Panino (gelato sandwich). There will be 20 rotating flavours dependant on the season and the gelato maker’s creative desires, and Chicho insist on you sampling a few before making the call—hells yeah!
The new opening couldn’t have come at a better time with the Fringe World Festival kicking off this week and summer inflicting its hot wrath upon us day in, day out. Chicho, you’ll be seeing a lot of us this summer!
