Move over Sydney, Perth's getting its very own bridge climb allowing us to cop a thrill at all new levels.
Part of a tourism initiative, the planned Matagarup Bridge climb will have around 314 steps, with the highest point reaching 60 metres above the Swan River. Not quite as high as Sydney Harbour Bridge (134 metres above sea-level), but still terrifying enough if heights are not your friend.
Thrill-seekers will enjoy the Matagarup Bridge zip-line which will take off from the middle of the bridge and land 300 metres later on a platform at Burswood Peninsula.
Then taking things up a notch there's the Optus Stadium rooftop climb which will kick off with a 220 step ascent and culminate in a 360 degree walk around the internal perimeter roof of the stadium before finishing on the western edge of the roof where participants will enjoy incredible views of the city. It sounds equal parts terrifying and wonderful.
And in case that's not enough sky-high action, Optus Stadium is scoring a set of rooftop seats boasting an all-new bird's eye view of whatever's unfolding below. These will only be available at select events; our fingers are obviously crossed for the footy.
The bridge climb and zip-line are slated to be completed first and there's a current start date of early 2020, stay tuned!
