Perth’s got new hotels popping up all over the place and the latest one on the horizon hails from everyone’s favourite concrete jungle (and Europe); the Moxy.
Moxy Hotels are the little sister of Marriott and they’re known for their fun-filled, edgy and effortlessly cool vibes. Think rooms that are compact but cleverly fit out with folding furniture and open shelving, high-speed wifi, the cosiest beds with Egyptian cotton sheets, luxe toiletries, HDTVs with Netflix, oversized rain showers and clever tech additions like bed-side charging stations and motion sensor lighting.
The hotels feature lifts designed for taking selfies in (including props), 24/7 self-service food and bevvy bars, libraries, break-out spaces to suit your mood and an industrial-chic aesthetic. We were lucky enough to stay at the Moxy in Times Square and can confirm it’s as cool as a cucumber.
Slated to open at the end of 2021, the hotel is taking over the tiny footprint of the demolished Wombat Hostel on Hay Street in Perth’s east side and squeezing 150 rooms into the multi-storey compound.
