Pick Of The Precint Bayswater Perths Best Cafes Perths Best Coffee Fitness In Perth

Anyone who’s well acquainted with the housing market knows that Bayswater is one of the up-and-coming suburbs in Perth and its rise in popularity has dramatically increased in the last year with some stellar new openings along King William Street and Whatley Crescent.

Aside from the adorable period architecture, this quaint little ‘burb has a lot to offer people about town, including cool cafes and coffee shops, awesome shops and a beautiful park just a stones throw away.

Here’s our pick of everything you should be eating, buying and doing in Bayswater.

tbsp.

Arriving on the Bayswater scene late last year, tbsp. is the place to go when you’re craving the naughties. Open for brunch Tuesday to Sunday, some of our favourite dishes include the brioche French toast with whipped honey butter and cereal crunch, the kimchi and grilled onion cheese toastie and the juicy cheeseburger served in a brioche bun with spring onion, daikon kimchi, aioli, butter crunch lettuce and a side of shoestring chips. Also serving espresso blends, hot and cold filter coffee and Whistleblower teas, tbsp. is one of our favourite new hangouts in Bayswater.

Old Lira

High on our list of favourite pizza spots in Perth, Bayswater pizza joint Old Lira is the place to go for your next pizza party. With freshly made sourdough pizza bases and all of the salamis (including our fave, nduja sausage) you’re in for a real treat. Old Lira serve some pizzas Fresche style (room temperature), as well as the regular calde style (hot), and they’ve got mini dessert calzones too, just ask for the current flavour. Our top menu picks are the number 2 and 7, with a dessert calzone and tub of Gusto Gelato of course!

Stampede Gelato

Flavour makers, Stampede Gelato popped up on King William Street in Baysie last year and we’re so glad they did. Serving some of the best gelato in Perth, they are always rotating crazy flavours like Salted Coke, Matcha Oreo, Pork Crackle Apple Sauce and Peanut Butter & Jam. If you want to up the calorie intake you can always get your favourite flavour sandwiched between a Top Dup doughnut!

Howdy Coffee

Keeping Bayswater locals caffeinated Thursday to Sunday, Howdy Coffee is conveniently located next to Stampede Gelato in the That Space pop-up. Serving Mary Street Bakery doughnuts, bagels from Hylin and adorably delicious chia granola bowls from Raw by Chris, as well as a range of sparkling teas on tap. We’re not sure how long they’re sticking around for, but we hope it’s forever!

Granite Lane

Rounding out the That Space pop-up, Granite Lane is the lifestyle store of your dreams! Stocking designer homewares, clothing and accessories from local and international brands, a visit to this lust-worthy store is a delight to the senses. The light and bright space is carefully filled with pin-worthy home décor, lighting, cushions and throws, accessories and some of the cutest clothing for tiny people, as well as luxurious skin care and sweet-smelling candles. We’ve had our eye on their Bloomingville vases and copper votives for quite some time. Next time you’re in the hood for ice cream or coffee, be sure to check out Granite Lane—and just a word of advice—be ready to spend up big!

Little Cheese Shop

Little Cheese Shop is dedicated to everything… you guessed it… cheese related! With specialty cheeses from all over the world this adorable little shop on Whatley Crescent also stocks cheese knives, boards and quirky knick knacks for anyone with a penchant for the yellow yummy stuff. No need to worry about putting together a cheese board for your next party, the Little Cheese Shop can do this for you, they’ll even help you host a cheese event in your home. Pop in for a visit the next chance you get and sample the goods.

Keeping fit in Baysie is a breeze thanks to the Martial Arts and Yoga Centre. Offering up everything from balance and beginners yoga to t’ai chi, karate, kobudo, functional circuit training and Fighting Fitness (a class combining martial arts, strength and cardio training)—the instructors at the studio are highly praised. If you’d like to take your fitness levels up to the rafters they’ve even got air yoga classes!

Bayswater Riverside Gardens

With river views, spanning grasslands and plenty of shady trees, Bayswater Riverside Gardens is one of the best parks to hang out at in Perth. Why not pack a picnic and enjoy some dog-watching? Or don your active wear and make use of the fun fitness equipment dotted throughout the park? Or just enjoy your morning coffee from Howdy while taking in the river views? There’s something for everyone here!
