If the thought of chips, gravy and deliciously squeaky cheese curds doesn’t get you excited then we need to talk. Poutine is a Canadian delicacy that is treasured by locals but for some reason unbeknownst to us, it’s not that easy to get your fix in Perth at any given time.
But that’s about to change, enter: Poutine Fest. After a successful innings last year, Poutine Fest is back at Sir James Mitchell Park this Saturday 15 February with three Poutine superstars who will be battling it out to see who can dish up Perth’s best version of this epic dish.
Get behind local food trucks Locale Kitchen, Curb Your Hunger Food Truck and The Canuck Truck as they whip up traditional poutine as well as more loaded versions than one human could ever need, but who are we to say no to smoked pork poutine?
If you find yourself in need of some variety, there will be plenty of other vendors on the day. Smokin BBQ Bus Tikka Tango and The Dirty Swine will all be dishing out savoury bites which you can wash down with dessert from Miam Miam a bite of France and Happy Chappy Ice Cream & Coffee.
On the drinks front, Crafted Events WA will be pouring Canadian beers and mixing Caesar cocktails for all to enjoy, so lock it in the calendar and don’t bother with breakfast on Saturday morning.
