Stock Up On Ice, These Perth Bars Are Serving Takeaway Cocktails

COVID-19 has taken a lot from us, but one of the things we’ve been missing most is cocktails. Whether you enjoyed them with a quiet dinner or out on the town, there’s no doubt they’ve left a hole in your booze-loving hearts that can’t quite be filled. But, thanks to some COVID-19 rules, Perth bars are now able to serve takeaway wine, beer, spirits and best of all—cocktails.

We’ve rounded up the best places in Perth to grab yourself a cocktail to go right now, but as always during these crazy times, we’ll be updating it on the regular so check back often and make sure you’ve got ice in the freezer.

Long Chim, Post And Petition At The State Buildings

Perth

Nothing goes better with Long Chim’s mouth-watering Thai eats than a blood orange negroni, so we were thrilled to hear The State Buildings had added booze to their takeaway and delivery menu. You can grab brews and vino, but we reckon your best bet is to add all three of their 100ml ready-to-pour cocktails by Cocktail Porter to your order. We already mentioned the blood orange negroni, and you can also treat yourself to the elderflower gimlet or a salted honey old fashioned.

Young George

East Fremantle

Self-isolation may have stopped us from going to Young George for their top-notch eats and inventive cocktails, but it certainly hasn’t stopped them from coming to us. Thanks to their takeaway and delivery menu, you can still feast on smoked adobo chicken wings and triple fried potatoes, then wash everything down with a signature cocktail. The booze list is so long it requires some scrolling, but top picks include the negroni, the bacon old fashioned, and let's not forget the house-made Limoncello. All cocktails come by the 300ml bottle and can serve 4, but we won’t judge if you drink the whole thing yourself.

Foxtrot Unicorn

Northbridge

Foxtrot Unicorn is still a relative newbie on Perth's bars scene but with a team of Perth's most awarded bartenders, it's not surprising they were already making waves before COVID-19 hit. Thank goodness for us, they've just re-opened with an entire online bottle shop so you can get wine and beer, but we know you're here for the bottled cocktails. Think flavours like the Honeycomb Old Fashioned, the Banana Vardier (it's sort of like a Negroni, but only for banana lovers) and more. One will set you back $15 but 10 will only cost you $120. You do the maths.

Peach Pit

Scarborough

We might not be able to sit and take in the ocean views as we feast on The Peach Pit’s burgers and sip on their cocktails, but we can get them delivered, and that’s a win we’re willing to accept. Fan favourite cocktails like the Aperol spritz, Tanqueray and tonic and nitro espresso martini are all available by the bottle.

La Cabana

South Fremantle

Enjoy authentic Mexican eats and drinks from home thanks to La Cabana’s takeaway menu. You can now pick up a range of their house-made cocktails to wash down your tasty tacos, including their signature margarita with lime and agave, the Mezcalita—a mixture of Nuestra Soledad, Arette Blanco, orgeat and lime—or the wonderful combination of Nuestra Soledad, Agave, Soda and Grapefruit that is the Paloma.

Palace Arcade

Northbridge and Victoria Park

You might not be able to get around Palace Arcade's games right now, but you can get around their giant pizzas and the bottled cocktails that will blow your mind. In terms of takeaway cocktails (which you can also get delivered, FYI) they've got three specials on offer. The Paloma is a tequila and grapefruit concoction, perfect for re-living your last Mexican holiday, The Charlie Chaplin is a gin, brandy and lime mix and do we really need to explain what the Cold Brew Martini is? You can also get their classics like the Old Fashioned, Pineapple Negroni and Pepperoni Sazerac if you want to stick with what you know.
