Thumbs at the ready gamers, we’ve got a big month full of funky games for maximum chills and spills. We’re talking the outrageously adorable platformer Yoshi’s Crafted World, terrifyingly realistic survival game Generation Zero and a quick-draw competition that’s going to have you challenging your friends to a duel.
Here are all the games to play this month.
Console and PC
Yoshi’s Crafted World
Would you like to play something so cute you want to punch yourself in the face? Of course you would. Leap into Yoshi’s Crafted World, where everything is made up of art supplies, including a felt Yoshi (can we get an ‘aw’?). It’s a side-scrolling puzzle platformer (à la old school Mario) with a couple of cool twists, like teaming up with other Yoshis to gulp down your enemies and playing the game backwards to unlock hidden treasures. Out March 29, only on Nintendo Switch.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice you play a shinobi whose lord has been kidnapped by a samurai (who cut off your arm for good measure). You wake up with a mystical prosthetic that can be equipped with anything from a grappling hook to a flame thrower, but most importantly, you have your katana, and with it you must battle your way through feudal Japan to find your master. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is out March 22nd on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
It’s 1980s Sweden and killer machines have invaded the country. You (and up to three other friends in co-op) must escape, evade, hunt, and destroy the machines in an enormous open-world game of cat and mouse. Not to mention discover the truth of why the heck these things are here. Confronted with eerily realistic time cycles, weather, sound and AI, will you be the generation that survives? Generation Zero is out March 26th on PS4, Xbox and PC
One Piece: World Seeker
Have you ever wanted to be an anime character with super whack powers? Thought so. Have you ever wondered what Legend of Zelda would look like on acid? No? Well, you’re going to find out anyhow. Sail away with the Straw Hat pirates in an open world action-adventure game full of battles, high-jinx and gum-gum abilities (read: ya stretchy). It’s weird, but it’s fun weird. One Piece: World Seeker is out now on PS4, XBox One and Nintendo Switch.
Hello fellow journalist, welcome to The Occupation. It’s the 24th of October 1987 and you have exactly four hours to find all the information you need to blow the whistle on The Union Act, a “controversial act which threatens the civil liberties of the British population,” put in action after a terrorist attack killed 23 people. One minute real world is one-minute game world, and your decisions affect the outcome, so think fast, strategise, and get the story. The Occupation is out now on PS4 and Xbox One.
The Division 2
Tom Clancy is back and you all better get your trigger finger ready. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to defend Washington D.C., stamp out three different enemy factions, rescue the President of the United States, and recover the cure to "Green Poison" from a highly fortified building. Easy, right? Third-person shooter action role-playing to the absolute max. The Division 2 is out now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Can you spot mistakes a mile off? Do you have to stop yourself annotating your friend’s texts? Well now there’s a game to curb your fixing addiction. Typochondria flashes a sentence before your eyes and you have five seconds to find the typo and swipe on to the next challenge. Build your score and become lord of all language… just try not to correct your boss afterwards.
