Locals of the Eastern Suburbs have something to really celebrate later this year—a brand new wine room featuring over 400 bottles representing nearly every key wine region across the world.
The Euro-inspired neighbourhood hub is locked to be the ultimate spot to wander in for a glass of crisp, fruity rose post-beach antics in summer or the ultimate joint to laze around for a long, boozy lunch.
The wine list has been curated by venue manager Brooke Adey (who you know from Bea, Chiswick and Yellow) and co-owner Tom Hardwick, and includes 30 wines by the glass and showcases over 50 wine varietals. You’ll also be in the midst of a collection of limited edition and hard-to-find vintage bottles.
On the feasting side of things, head chef Sandro Di Marino (A Tavola) has conjured up a selection of small and more substantial feeds to soak up the wines. Influenced by the Mediterranean, you’ll find ocean snacks like Sydney rock oysters, char-grilled octopus with lentils, pork sliders and cheese and charcuterie platters.
Split over two levels, the Coogee Wine Room space has been designed with worldwide travel at the helm of its foundations which means you’re in for a striking black staircase, industrial elements like exposed brick walls, concrete floors warm timbers, rich leather and marble.
Coogee Wine Room is slated to open September 2019. Stay tuned for more details.
