Five Awesome Things To Do In Sydney This Week

By Jayme-Lee Fechner - 29 May 2017

glow in the dark silent yoga Sydney

ICYMI, we’re officially in the last week of autumn; and whilst we’ll be sad to see those beautiful orange-toned leaves go, Sydney is making up for it with a whole range of epic things to do, like yoga with a DJ and eating all of the Vivid Sydney inspired food (and that’s just to start).

Here are five awesome things to do in Sydney for the week ahead!

Monday 29th May

Dr. Libby Weaver Presents Sort Your Sleep

It’s time to own up to your ‘only-one-more-episode’ before you go to sleep addiction. Enough is enough fam. Dr. Libby is giving us all the pro-tips on how to achieve the ultimate sleep, to help you stop waking up on the wrong side of the bed (see what we did there?). Sort Your Sleep will address all your burning questions relating to getting a solid night’s zzz, looking deep into mood and fatigue from a nutritional, biochemical and emotional perspective. Let the sleeping begin!

When: Monday May 29
Where: Grand Ballroom, Kirribilli Club
Price: $39.95 pp.

Tuesday 30th May

Flow After Dark

Over your tedious exercise regime? Us too.. Look no further, because we’ve found a yoga class that’s guaranteed to give you back your groove. Co-founded by one of our fave yogis, Kate Kendall, Flow After Dark will take your downward dog up a notch. Think silent disco, complete with noise cancelling headphones (because it’s silent guys) and beats dropped by DJ James Mack in a 90-minute vinyasa style class.  Held at the Hordern Pavilion with 850 of your besties, grab your tickets here. FYI this one’s Under the Sea themed and costumes are encouraged, obvs.

When: Tuesday May 30
Where: Hordern Pavilion
Price: $53.45 pp.

Wednesday 31st May

VIVID Dining @ The Langham With Kerrie Hess

If you haven’t heard of the artist Kerrie Hess (kind of judging you), her works are absolute #watercolourgoals. With a portfolio that includes Calvin Klein and Harper’s Bazaar, this is your chance to dine with her for one night only. Held at The Langham Sydney to celebrate all things VIVID, you’ll watch Hess in action on her next masterpiece, whilst dining on a specially curated menu (think smoked mackerel tartar for starters) inspired by her work.

When: Wednesday May 31
Where: The Langham Sydney
Price: $99 pp.

A Progressive Dining Event: 117 Dining and Supper Club

The Intercontinental is bringing back it’s progressive dining event, combining the culinary skills of 117 dining (awarded 2016 winner of the World Luxury Restaurant Award) and their damn impressive views of VIVD, all atop the Supper Club. A four-course menu paired with matching wines is ready for the tasting, complete with vivid-inspired meals like blow-torched salmon with black rice, ginger, and seaweed. But it’s a cocktail we’re the most excited about—a mix of Japanese sake, honeydew melon liqueur, salted caramel syrup and cold-press pineapple juice.  It’s cold-pressed, so it’s technically #cleaneating, right?

Where: Supper Club at the Intercontinental Sydney
When: Wednesday May 31 (other dates include 1, 7, 8, 14 and 15 June)
Price: $139 pp.
