Get To NoOk Urban Fresh Bar

By Ellie Schneider - 17 Mar 2014

It may be situated on one of the CBD's busiest thoroughfares, Clarence Street, but NoOk Urban Fresh Bar is a coffee oasis unbeknown to many.

Hidden within the city's sizeable office buildings, this little café scatters it tables out onto the pavement, featuring an array of colourful fruit and veg boxes along the front bar—a nod to the fresh, wholesome fare cooking in the kitchen.

It would be fitting to say the boys here are coffee-centric, Sensory Lab espresso is the order of the day, and there's an alluring selection of single origins on hand, as well as a vast list of brewing methods (cold drip, V60) and Hario gear available for purchase.

As for the food, the seasonal menu is driven by tasty, nourishing ingredients with highlights including: ocean trout, quinoa and broad bean salad finished with a poached egg; spicy beef tacos with tomato salsa, lemon juice and jalapeño; and grilled haloumi stack of avocado, heirloom tomatoes, lemon aioli, poached eggs and a drizzle of pesto—everything is delicious here.
