If you like Princess Mononoke and getting Spirited Away you’re gonna bloody well flip your lid because Brisbane’s got herself a Studio Ghibli Film Festival on her hands #cantstopscreamingandliterallyded.
This glorious cinematic buffet comes courtesy of the phresh and snazzy Elizabeth Picture Theatrem and promises a technicoloured Ghibli feature every Thursday night and Sunday afternoon until November 4, so that’s my next three months of viewing sorted. The full list of session times and booking links can be accessed via their website or the event page, and we highly recommend securing tickets ASAP to avoid missing out.
If you haven’t yet sampled the animated delights of Studio Ghibli, now is the perfect time to climb aboard the bandwagon because nothing beats the big screen. The festival programme features a walloping 20 of Ghibli Studio’s films (we recommend going to at least six), which will be screened in Japanese with English subtitles, and tickets are going for a measly $12 a pop, which leaves you with pleeeenty of spare change to hit up the candy bar.
