Winter may not be good for lots of activities. It's bad news for the beach, terrible for the tanning, and a nightmare for shorts. But in one respect, we love it when the cold weather rolls in because all our favourite watering holes bring out a selection of mulled wines and tempered ciders to warm our bellies and add a festive rosy glow to our cheeks. Without further ado, we bring you the best warm bev's in Bris'. Wrap your paws around a steaming mug of warm cider and look forward to the cold weather ahead.
Bitter Suite| Our New Farm favourite, Bitter Suite have a divine hot buttered rum on the menu, as well as a lush and warming mulled wine. We think a glass of this heavenly nectar would go down particularly well with a bowl of their hand-cut wedges with gruyere, chilli beef and sour cream. These delish' drinkies are the liquid equivalent of a big woolly jumper.
PUBLIC | Public are doing a hot cider iteration your gran might approve of (and we certainly do). Instead of serving their warm cider in the usual glass, jug or mug, Public are serving this cheery liquid up in quaint copper teapots - perfect for keeping your brew warm. Divine on a cold night, and perfect for sharing, we think this tipple is ideal for a drink after a night at the rugby.
Stokehouse | Stokehouse are hopping on the warm-drink wagon, and are offering up special winter concoction just for their Sunday patrons. Their heavenly hot buttered rum is made with kraken spiced rum, spiced butter, and brown sugar. We want one.
Black Bear Lodge | Black Bear's mulled wine is warming and spicy, and the perfect accompaniment to the Bear's lodge-style digs. Grab a glass and curl up next to the piano. Bliss on a windy winter night.
The End | Because The End is just cool like that, they've got quite an extensive list of hot options on the menu. Think mulled wine, mulled cider, hot buttered rum, and a hot rum milk punch that you just know is going to be a winner.
